Moammar Gaddafi's family reportedly will sue NATO (5 PHOTOS)



The family of deceased Libyan dictator Moammar Gaddafi reportedly plans to file a war-crimes complaint against NATO for the role they believe the international military alliance played in the former leader’s death, a lawyer for the family told Agence France-Presse news service.

Marcel Ceccaldi, a French lawyer who previously worked for Gaddafi's regime and now represents his family, told AFP on Wednesday that the complaint would be filed with the International Criminal Court in the  Hague because the family believes a NATO strike on Gaddafi’s convoy led directly to his death.

Libyans bury Gadhafi in unmarked grave along with son and top aide (VIDEO)


MISRATA, Libya — Moammar Gadhafi was buried early Tuesday morning in an unmarked grave in a modest Islamic ceremony, closing the book on his nearly 42-year rule of Libya and the eight-month civil war to oust him.
A Gadhafi nephew read a prayer for the dead before Gadhafi’s body — along with those of his son Muatassim and former defense minister Abu Bakr Younis — were handed over for burial, said Ibrahim Beitalmal, a spokesman for the military council in the port city of Misrata.

Col Gaddafi 'buried in secret, desert grave at dawn'


The bodies of ex-Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, his son Muatassim and a top aide have been buried in secret in the desert, Libyan officials say.
A National Transitional Council (NTC) official told the BBC the bodies were buried at dawn in an unknown location.

Muammar Gaddafi Death in Ambulance (VIDEO)



Libyan forces guarding Muammar Gaddafi's body in a cold storage room let in members of the public to view the deposed leader for a second day on Saturday, but the wounds that may hold the clue to how he died were covered up.

Gaddafi's body lay on a mattress on the floor of the cold room, as it did Friday when hundreds of members of the public filed in to see for themselves that the man who ruled Libya for 42 years was dead.

Pressure grows for Gaddafi death investigation (VIDEO & 3 PHOTOS)



Libyan authorities are coming under pressure to give a full account of the death of Moamar Gaddafi amid concerns the former dictator may have been executed - a war crime under international law.


The corpses of Gaddafi and his son Moutassim remain in refrigerated containers in the city of Misrata, where they were viewed by crowds of people on Friday.

Gaddafi killed: Bashar al-Assad will be next to fall, declare Syrians (VIDEO)




Opposition leaders in Syria predicted that President Bashar al-Assad would follow Gaddafi to become the next Middle East strongman to be deposed in the Arab Spring.

Even as Libya’s National Transitional Council prepared to declare victory in the civil war last night, celebrating crowds spilt into the streets of the Syrian city of Homs, an activist in the country said.

Muammar Gaddafi 'killed in Sirte'




Officials today scrambled to check reports that deposed Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi had died after being captured near his hometown of Sirte following months of civil war.


Gaddafi was wounded in the head and legs as he tried to flee in a convoy that came under attack from Nato warplanes at dawn, a senior official with Libya's National Transitional Council told Reuters.
